Yes, you can fundraise for Race for Impact through Instagram! Setting it up only takes about five minutes. You can now run a fundraiser straight from your Instagram profile, and what you raise there counts toward your Race for Impact total. This is a new feature, so it is in beta: if anything looks off, get in touch and we will investigate.

Before you start
Link your Instagram handle first. Do it at the top of the guide page, before you create the fundraiser. (Note you will need to be logged in to your Race for Impact profile in order to do this. See our advice on how to do this here.) You are required to link your instagram handle to your account in order for us to match Instagram donations to your page. Without it, the money still goes to the cause-area funds but won't show on your profile or count toward your minimum.
Your fundraiser will say "High Impact Athletes", not Race for Impact. That is correct: High Impact Athletes is the registered charity behind Race for Impact, and it is the name Instagram uses in the charity picker, on the fundraiser and on receipts.
Title your fundraiser with your name, exactly as it appears on your Race for Impact page, and set the goal to at least your fundraising minimum.
Use your phone. Instagram's fundraiser tools are not available on desktop.
Common questions
Does it count toward my fundraising minimum?
Yes. Instagram donations are added to your Race for Impact total once we reconcile Instagram's report, so they can take up to 2 weeks to appear. Nothing is lost while you wait.
My Instagram donations haven't appeared on my page.
First check the handle linked on the guide page matches the account running the fundraiser. A wrong or missing handle is the cause almost every time. If it is correct and the donations still haven't appeared after a few days, message us and we will trace them.
Will donations made on my Race for Impact page show on my Instagram fundraiser?
No. Instagram doesn't let us push anything back into it. Your Race for Impact page shows your full total; the Instagram figure only shows what came through Instagram.
Will my donors get a receipt? Can you thank them?
Donors get a receipt from the payment processor that Instagram uses. We don't receive donor email addresses from Instagram, so please thank your donors yourself with a comment or DM.
I can't find the fundraiser option in Instagram.
Instagram's fundraising tools aren't available on every account or in every country yet. If you don't have them, add your Race for Impact link to your bio instead. See How can I promote my fundraising campaign?
Can I do this on Facebook?
Yes. The guide page links to the Facebook option, which creates the fundraiser for you from your Race for Impact page.
