How do I write a compelling story for my fundraising page?
Start with why
You should share why you chose to join Race for Impact. What motivated you to take part in HYROX and support high-impact charities?
For example: you can write " I’ve always loved pushing my limits, but this time I wanted my training to mean something more.”
Make it personal
Talk about how you were inspired to support the cause you are fundraising for. Maybe it was through a personal experience, or maybe it aligns with your values or beliefs. You can also explain why it is important to you to support effective charities. Being authentic is more important than writing perfectly!
Adding photos and videos make your page more personal and help people connect with your story.
Introduce the cause
You may want to explain who High Impact Athletes and the supported charities are. You can find background information on our website
www.highimpactathletes.org. You can describe how High Impact Athletes is different from most charities: that we only fund charities that are independently vetted and evaluated to be effective and transparent in their giving. Each charity goes through an extremely rigorous evaluation by the world's most stringent charity research organisations.
You can also find information about your specific cause area on the Race For Impact website (go to www.raceforimpact.com) and share which charities Race For Impact supports.
Make it tangible
Here is where you can state your fundraising goal. It helps to explain what each donation can achieve: for example you can explain that €50 can provide 30 people clean drinking water for a year. Our website www.raceforimpact has more information on the impact each donation achieves.
Invite action
Don't forget to finish with a heartfelt, clear ask.
For example: “If you can, please support my fundraising campaign, every bit helps and means the world to me!”
